🪔 About Nag Panchami
The residents of Gokul were tormented by Kaliya Nag, a serpent whose deadly poison had contaminated the Yamuna River. Though just a child, Sri Krishna stepped into the river and effortlessly subdued Kaliya, dancing atop his many heads with joy.
Nag Panchami celebrates Lord Krishna's victory over Kaliya, symbolising our triumphs over the emotional and mental poisons that weaken us. This day is especially auspicious for worshiping and appeasing the divine serpents.
As you honor this victory, invoke Nagendra Haaraya—Lord Shiv—who wraps the mightiest serpent, Vasuki, around his neck. May Lord Shiv's divine presence grant you the strength to overcome the poisons that threaten to divert you from the path to Bhagvan.
