🪔 About Lohri and Bhogi

Observed widely in Punjab, devotees celebrate the bounty of Mother Nature during this regional harvest festival. Lohri marks the end of winter as the sun begins its northward journey and the days get longer. Folk songs, dances, and plentiful food make up this occasion.

It is the perfect time to invoke the Sun God, Lord Surya, and invite his life-giving rays into your life.

Other Celebrations

Bhogi

Today, farmers worship Lord Indra for good rains and prosperity. They pay homage to their farming equipment.

In Southern India, devotees light bonfires in front of their homes today and burn unwanted, broken belongings. This ritual symbolises change and transformation, as well as the burning of old Karma. This sacrifice of all undesirable thoughts and habits to the sacred fire is called Rudra Gita Gyan Yagna.
