🪔 About Holika Dahan/Vasant Purnima
Bhakt Prahlad was a great devotee of Sri Hari. Angered by Prahlad's devotion, his father, Hiranyakashyap, ordered his sister, Holika, to sit in the fire with Prahlad on her lap. Holika had got the boon that fire would not harm her.
She sat on a pyre with her nephew, Prahlad. But chanting Sri Hari's holy names with devotion shielded Prahlad while Holika was reduced to ashes. The burning of Holika, thus, marks the triumph of good over evil.
Holika Dahan is an auspicious day to begin any Sadhana, particularly of Sri Hari.
