🪔 About Ganga Saptami

Once, when Ma Ganga descended from the heavens to Earth in a stormy flow, her powerful current swept away sage Jahnu’s ashram. Angered, he drank up her water. Later, when the Devas appeased Jahnu rishi, he released Ma Ganga from his ear.

She was, thus, reborn on Ganga Saptami. Bathing in the Ganga and performing a Rudrabhishekam today with Gangajal (sacred Ganga water) is highly auspicious.
