🪔 About Ganga Dussehra

On this auspicious day, the divine river, Ma Ganga, was called upon to free the cursed souls of King Bhagirath’s ancestors. Leaving Lord Brahma’s Kamandalu (sacred water pot), she flowed past the divine feet of Sri Hari.

Carrying the purity of Heaven, Ma Ganga descended to Earth through the matted locks of Lord Shiv.

Ganga Dussehra celebrates Ma Ganga’s success in liberating Bhagirath’s ancestors.
