🪔 About Devshayani Ekadashi

Dev' means God, and 'Shayani' means rest. After a fierce fight with Asura Sankhyayanand and the recovery of the lost Vedas, Lord Vishnu entered yogic sleep for four months on this day. He is said to have rested atop the coiled body of his serpent, Ananta Shesha, on Kshirsagar, the cosmic ocean.

While Sri Vishnu rested, Lord Shiv took care of the universe.
