🪔 About Akhurath Sankashti Chaturthi

Akhurath Sankashti, also known as Sankatahar Chaturthi, is an auspicious day dedicated to Lord Ganesh. This day is celebrated in every lunar Hindu calendar month on the fourth day of the Krishna Paksh (the dark lunar phase or the waning fortnight of the moon). 'Akhurath' means 'the one with the mouse as his charioteer.' Since he has a mouse as his vahan (vehicle), Sri Ganesh is worshipped in this form (with a mouse) for this festival.
